THE BRAND CAPSULE
THE BRAND CAPSULE
A complete brand strategy for founders preparing to launch. Over four to six weeks, we research your customer and category, then develop your position, voice and first-year plan.
THE BRAND CAPSULE
THE PROBLEM
There’s inspiration everywhere: a saved Instagram post, a Pinterest board or something you heard on your favourite podcast during your commute. Each one gives you another idea for what your brand could be. But collecting good ideas is different from deciding who you want to reach and why she should choose your product. Without those decisions, you could end up launching a brand that blends in with everything around it.
THE PROBLEM
THE PROBLEM
Then you describe your idea to a friend who loves this stuff, but halfway through, you can hear yourself losing her. Someone at a networking event asks what makes your product different from the brands she already knows. Your answer makes you sound less confident than you feel.
You realise you still need to get clear on:
· who you want your brand to reach
· what makes your product different
· how to make her want to buy from you
THE PROBLEM
Your unanswered questions don’t disappear when you launch. They’re still there when it’s time to decide where your launch budget goes. You put £500 into Meta ads and get plenty of clicks, but barely any orders. You send products to micro-influencers, a few stories go up, and your follower count barely moves. Then you pay for PR and get one feature. Great, except your customer doesn’t read the publication.
Work out who you want to reach and why she’d choose your product before you start spending. You’ll know what the ad needs to say and which publications your customer actually reads.
In your first year, you may find yourself explaining your brand to people who don’t know you or how long you’ve spent building the business. Often, they only have the deck, application or email in front of them. It needs to make sense without you there to fill in the gaps.
Each of these potential partners and collaborators needs different information from you, even though you’re explaining your each time. Your strategy helps you adapt the pitch without changing who your brand is for or why customers should choose it.
WHAT’S AT STAKE
The Brand Capsule turns your ideas and early assumptions into a strategy based on what customers in your category already say and do. We use the research to develop your position, brand voice and ready-to-use messaging for your main product.
You’ll also have a practical marketing plan for your first year, with clear priorities for what needs to happen before launch and what can wait. You can use the strategy yourself or share it with any specialists you bring in, without answering the same brand questions from scratch every time.
THE SOLUTION
THE FRAMEWORK
We give your brand an archetype that guides how it speaks and shows up wherever customers meet it. You can use it to brief a copywriter, shape an Instagram post or check whether a pitch still sounds like your brand. Each touchpoint will feel connected and recognisably yours.
Most founders already have a version of their customer in their head. The research usually shows that she’s more specific—and more interesting—than they first thought. Through social listening, we build a detailed picture of the woman you’re creating your brand for: what matters to her, what frustrates her and what she already spends money on. You’ll know where your product fits into her life and what could persuade her to buy it.
We find the space your brand can credibly claim in its category. You’ll know what makes your offer different, how to explain that difference clearly and why it matters to the customer you want to reach. This gives retailers and customers a reason to choose your product when they have plenty of alternatives.
We set out what to focus on first, what can wait and why. The plan reflects what your target customer values, the money and time you realistically have available, and the priorities most likely to help your brand attract its first customers.
We build your messaging framework and write the benefit statements for your hero product. You’ll have clear language for your website and launch content, plus the main points a retailer, journalist or creator needs to understand before deciding whether to feature your product.
We define the creative direction for your brand, including the visual principles and aesthetic codes that should guide its look. You can use the strategy to make your own design choices or brief a designer without starting from a folder of saved references and hoping they see what you see.

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
On those projects, every idea was questioned before it went to market. We looked at what customers were buying and saying, then used that research to decide which ideas made sense for the brand. Bigger budgets gave us more choices, which made it even more important to know who we were speaking to and why she would choose us.
When I started meeting founders, I saw a different kind of advantage. Their products often came from problems they understood personally, and they could speak to customers without a committee in between. They were also deciding how their brand should compete while finding a manufacturer and paying for stock.
That’s why I created Sheo, and lead every project myself. For The Brand Capsule, I research what women in your category are already buying and saying, then help you decide who your brand is for and why she should choose it.
You have a product idea you believe in. You may already have samples, preorders or a few early sales, but you still need to decide who your brand is for and how to explain what makes your product different.
You have a strong point of view, but you don’t want your own taste or experience to be the only evidence behind your brand. You want to know what women in your category already buy and say, so you can see where your product fits and why they might choose it.
You’d rather invest in getting your brand strategy right before launching. You know testing and adjusting will still be part of building your business, you just don’t want to pay to redo work because you were still figuring out the strategy as you went.
You’d love expert support, but you don’t want to lose the details that make your brand yours. You’re ready to be part of the process and stay open when the research shows you something you hadn’t expected.
tHe process
You’ll work directly with Lara, our founder and principal strategist, throughout the project. We present each part of your strategy live, giving you time to question the findings and approve the work before we move on.
Once you book, we open a private client hub for your timeline, files and questions. After a short kick-off call, we’ll spend two to three hours together talking through your product and the brand you want to build. We then research the women already buying and talking about products in your category, using what we find to test your early ideas about your customer.
Within 48 hours of enquiring, you’ll hear from us. If The Brand Capsule looks like a good fit and the timing works, we’ll arrange a complimentary 30-minute fitting call. We’ll talk through where your product is now, the decisions ahead and whether the service is the right next step. If it is, we’ll confirm the scope, schedule and payment details in writing.
Across two live calls, we present the strategy as it develops. You’ll review and approve your target customer and position first. The second call covers your brand personality, voice, visual direction and hero-product messaging. You can question the findings and agree any refinements before we complete your Brand Capsule.
You’ll have 12 weeks after the project ends to book your 45-minute follow-up call. That gives you time to start using the strategy and see where our advice would be most useful. We can review work, talk through an opportunity and answer questions that have come up as you’ve started putting it into practice.
At your final presentation, we walk you through your complete strategy and launch plan. We answer questions as we go and spend longer on anything you want to discuss. Afterwards, we send your finished Brand Capsule as a digital deck.
Our pricing is fixed and transparent. Enter your details below and we’ll send our complete investment guide straight to your inbox, so you can decide whether you’d like to enquire.
